New to Pilates

It’s quite common for first-timers to feel intimidated about starting up Pilates sessions. The most common misconceptions are that you are “not flexible enough” or “not familiar with any of the exercises” etc. Instead of doubting your abilities consider that you are here to learn something new. As Maytal says, “you didn’t go to school to learn things you already knew, you had to be taught how to read, write, do math, etc and that took time.” Pilates is designed to provide you with a uniquely personalized workout. At TRUE Pilates Santa Monica we provide a welcoming atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace.

Just come with an open mind, patience and the willingness to learn.

session details

Each session lasts up to 55 minutes long.

New to the method? The initial session acts as both an assessment of your body’s needs as well as an introduction to the equipment and to the basic exercises.

For those with more experience of the Romana’s or the “classical” method the session will seek to expand and challenge your understanding and connection of your powerhouse. Through fluid movement we will reveal your body’s needs and challenge your strength to bring your body to the next level.

 

Cancellation Policy

True Pilates Santa Monica maintains a strict standard 24hour cancellation policy. There will be a full session charge for late cancellations and missed appointments, unless otherwise arranged.

If you must cancel late, you may reschedule an additional appointment (other than your standing time) to make up within the same business week of the cancellation.

Payments

All payments must be made in full prior to your lesson.
Cash, Check, Zelle, Venmo, and Credit Cards are accepted.

All sales are final and
non-refundable.

Waivers & Forms / COVID

All clients are expected to fill out a waiver and client information form (provided and must be filled out prior to first visit).

Proof of full vaccination is required before first lesson. Masks must be worn in the studio.

Any clients with current injuries, medical rehabilitation (physical therapy), or pregnancy must provide a doctor release/approval.

What to Wear
Comfortable shirt and pants, depending on your comfort level yoga/stretchy pants, work very well. No Zippers.
Socks are optional – we recommend a pair of grip socks (such as Toe Sox® or something of the sort).
Keep jewelry to a minimum.
What to Expect
A full body workout that challenges you both physically and mentally in an encouraging atmosphere.
You will never be compared to others. Your progress, like your body, is your own.
Learning real Pilates is like learning a new language, it takes time, exactly how long varies with each person.
